Weston James Anderson Green (to be known as “Weston”) was born Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 7:44 PM, Pacific time, in the Sutter Davis Hospital Family Birthing Center, Davis, California, U.S.A.  He checked in at 6 pounds 2.8 ounces, and 18.5 inches long.  Son of Michael Green and Rachael Harwood-Jones Green, he is the younger brother of Annabelle Jane Green.

Heather and I had arrived at Rachael and Michael’s home two days earlier, so we – and Ken Green, the other grandfather 1 – were able to visit Weston, an hour after he was born.

On September 6, we brought Weston’s Big Sister to meet Little Brother, and cameras were going full blast.

The accompanying photos illustrate the story.

When the nurse took Weston’s measurements, she also inked his feet, and took footprints.  If you look at my right arm, in the picture, above, you will see that she applied a footprint “tattoo” to me!  She also put one on Ken Green’s arm, and on Michael’s.  Fun!

1  To our great sorrow, the other grandmother, Phyllis Green, died in 2017 – before she could meet any of her grandchildren.  So, my counterpart, Ken Green is a widower.  He came to Sacramento for Weston s birth, accompanied by his adult daughter, Melinda.
