In driving around Grenada, one of the first places we went was Sauteurs (Old French=“leapers”), where, in 1651, Carib natives jumped to their deaths rather than be captured and killed by French colonizers.  The forty-metre high cliff from which they jumped is seen here from the nearby townsite.  For more information, see text.
